One of the first Fontana albums by British tenor giant Tubby Hayes -- and a well-rounded session with many great elements! About half the tracks feature Tubby on tenor, with a quartet that includes Terry Shannon, Jeff Clyne, and Bill Eyden -- in the hard-hitting bop style of his earlier work on Tempo. Another few tracks feature that group expanded by a larger lineup of added horn players -- for a searing sound that has Tubby soloing strongly over the top! And the last few feature a slightly large group with Tubby on vibes -- showing that he's equally great on that instrument as he is on his horn. Strong all the way through, and with tracks that include 'The Late One', 'Love Walked In', 'Tubbsville', 'RTH', and 'Wonderful Wonderful'.
