Ted Nash is not quite as well known namewise as McPherson but he definitely should be. This is postbop Jazz with a tuneliist including works from Monk, Horace Silver, Andrew Hill, Billy Strayhom, two numbers each from pianoman Hutman and the leader. The rythm team play together as if they were all old friends and make Nash sound like no stranger to them. It's great to see someone finally doing an Andrew Hill composition because that is surely one of the last great untapped librairies by Jazzmen left.
