Ponty plays an amplified violin on the demanding composition by Solal, 'Une nuit au violon'; he triples himself for 'Postlude in C', and plays 'Satin Doll' pizzicato. When he wants to round out the sound, he placed a mute on the bridge of his violin to play 'I want to talk about you'.
A new chapter in the history of the violin had begun.
